Object Libraries Reference Help

Plant Simulation provides a number of object libraries that cover important modeling tasks.

Note:

The object libraries are intended as demonstrators which exemplify how to approach the respective modeling tasks. They are not intended to solve your modeling tasks as, for example, the built-in Tools do.

  • The Free of Charge Example Libraries:

    • The Cranes and More library contains these components:

      • The MultiPortalCrane for picking up and for placing parts anywhere within a facility.

      • The StorageArea for placing parts for the MultiPortalCrane onto a storage area.

      • The GantryLoader for supplying machines, which are located on a single axis, with parts.

      • The CrossSlidingCar for modeling transport systems.

      • The Lift to raise or to lower parts quickly and easily from one level to another level

    • The High Bay Warehouse (HBW) for modeling simple functions of a high bay warehouse.

    • The Kanban Objects for modeling pulling production facilities.

  • Licensed Libraries for which you have to buy a license:

The Value Stream Mapping library for modeling value streams.

To add any of the object libraries to the Class Library, click Manage Class Library > Libraries on the Home ribbon tab.

Note:

Plant Simulation checks about every half hour if a newer version of any of the loaded libraries exists.

Note:

We modeled the objects of the object libraries as application objects based on Frames. For this reason opening Help with F1 and What’s This Help in the dialogs of the objects do not work. To open help for an object, select Help > Help on Object in its dialog.

We modeled the dialogs of the objects with the object Dialog. The windows of the objects do not use the standard Siemens PLM theme, but your Windows theme.

To assign the object another name or a label, click it with the right mouse button and select Rename.
