What's new in Next Generation Planning 1.8 for users
Initial planning
Now when you clone process elements that contain operations and assignments, you can realize more efficiencies because the operations and assignments are included in the clone operation.
Cloning process elements is a very efficient tool you can use for common sections of a ship. You must update cloned process elements when the master is changed and that change is applicable to the cloned process element.
Now you can see the geometry that is associated with the selected process element. A very large amount of geometry is associated with ship building, and this feature helps you see the geometry you currently need in the 3d Viewer. You can use settings to manage how consumed parts are shown in the 3d Viewer.
Activities sometimes depend on processes or operations that originate in a different activity. You can author or view a sequence to describe the flow of operations, manufacturing elements, or process elements, across activities.
You can now clone activities more easily, because you can clone them not only from the Build Strategy tab, but also from all other tabs.
Now when you clone an activity to a different hull, the Model Views are also cloned.
Assigning attribute groups to design components is much more efficient, because you can select multiple design components at a time.
Changing the purpose type of design components is also more efficient, because you can select multiple design components at a time.
Your search for process elements or operations is much more efficient now with the search capabilities from the Work Unit tab, the Build Strategy tab, and the Operations tab.
Detailed planning
Finding Model Views is now easier. Use the new Search option to enter any portion of a view name to filter Model Views. It is easy to use and provides immediate results.
