Real-time (Home ribbon)
The button Real-time 
activates or deactivates real-time mode. This mode pauses the simulation until the time span between two events has elapsed in real-time.
You have to activate real-time mode to achieve a smooth animation in 3D. Animations, which you imported into 3D, only run, when you activate real-time mode. The objects in 3D move with the speed of the corresponding Plant Simulation object and the real-time factor, which you enter here.
Note:
Normally Plant Simulation does not take the time span between events into account, as it is a discrete event simulation system.
This has the same effect as checking Real-time in the EventController.
