Edit Layout Statements

The LAYE statement modifies the views of a layout. Unlike interactive NX, you can edit any existing layout, whether or not it is currently active.

Note that the current and saved versions of a layout can have the same name, but contain different views. Editing a layout is somewhat analogous to editing a text file; the current layout is comparable to edited text, and a saved layout is comparable to archived text.

If a layout name is not specified, the edit takes place on the active layout. An edit made to the active layout is not saved unless the SAVE minor word is specified. When the layout is saved, all the views are saved in addition.

The layout may be saved using its original name, thus updating it, or it may be saved as a new layout by specifying a new layout name. This results in two layouts in your part.

If you specify a layout name and it is not the current layout, any edits made are automatically saved.
