3D Quick Reference

Navigate in the Scene with the Mouse

To do this

Zoom the scene

Roll the mouse wheel or hold down Shift and the right mouse button and drag the mouse

Zoom the scene in Planning View

Hold down the middle and the right mouse button and drag the mouse

Move the camera backwards and forwards in normal 3D view

Hold down the middle and the right mouse button and drag the mouse

Pan the scene

Hold down the right mouse button and drag the mouse or hold down the middle and the right mouse button and drag the mouse

Rotate the scene

Hold down the left and the right mouse button and drag the mouse or hold down Ctrl and the right mouse button and drag the mouse

Navigate in the Scene with the Keyboard (Move the Camera)

Move the camera up by 10 cm

Press Shift+Z on the keyboard

Move the camera down by 10 cm

Press Z on the keyboard

Move the camera left by 10 cm

Press Q on the keyboard

Move the camera right by 10 cm

Press E on the keyboard

Tilt the camera upwards by 1°

Press W on the keyboard

Tilt the camera downwards by 1°

Press S on the keyboard

Rotate the viewing direction by 0.2° to the left

Press A on the keyboard

Rotate the viewing direction by 0.2° to the right

Press D on the keyboard

Rotate the viewing direction by 2° to the left

Press Shift+A on the keyboard

Rotate the viewing direction by 2° to the right

Press Shift+D on the keyboard

Rotate the Object Camera

Rotate the object camera by 0.2°

Press the left or right down arrow key

Rotate the viewing direction by 0.2°

Hold down Shift+Ctrl and press the left or right down arrow key

Reset the orientation to the default setting

Press Pos1 on the keyboard

Remove object camera

Press Esc on the keyboard

Move and Rotate Objects

Move the object in the scene with the mouse

Hold down the left mouse button and drag the mouse

Move the object by 0.1 meters

Press the left, right, up, or down arrow keys

Move the object by 1 meter

Hold down Shift and press the left, right, up, or down arrow keys

Move the object vertically up and down with the mouse

Hold down Alt and drag the mouse

Move the object vertically up and down by 0.1 meters

Hold down Ctrl or Alt and press the up or down arrow keys

Move the object vertically up and down by 1 meter

Hold down Alt and press the up or down arrow keys

Rotate the object by 1° counter-clockwise or clockwise

Hold down Ctrl and press the left or right arrow keys (hold down Shift in addition to rotate in greater steps)

Rotate the object by 45° counter-clockwise or clockwise

Hold down Shift and Ctrl and press the left or right arrow keys

While Modeling

Prevent that Plant Simulation uses the end angle of the polycurve as start angle when you create a new polycurve

Select children of a Frame without selecting the Frame

Drag the object/graphic and drop it at another location in the 3D window

Insert the path to a simulation object or 3D graphic into the open Method editor

Drag the 3D object/3D graphic into the Method Editor and drop it there

Show the frames per second, the number of nodes and polygons, amount of RAM used, and the OpenGL version used

Press F

Start 3D Stereo mode
