Setting Plant Simulation Up

Proceed as follows to install Tecnomatix Plant Simulation:

• Download the Plant Simulation installation package from our web site https://download.industrysoftware.automation.siemens.com.

  If you are using a previous version of Plant Simulation, you can select File > Help > Download Full Product Or Update.

  • Have your Webkey and your Password ready.

  • Scroll down to Tecnomatix Products under Product Filter in the left window pane.

  • Click Full products > Windows (64-Bit) in the right window pane.

  • Click Plant Simulation and scroll to the newest version. In our example below this is the file Plant_Simulation_15.1_DVD_64bit.zip. The zip file contains the installation package that you can download and use to install Plant Simulation.

  • Below we list the pdf files that contain information about the version.

    The file Plant_Simulation_15.1_Installation_ENU.pfd contains the installation instructions for this version.

    

  • Click the zip file and download it to a folder of your choice on your computer.

  • Extract the zip file.

• • Log on as Administrator under Windows 7, Windows 8.1, or Windows 10.

  • Change to the folder on your computer into which you downloaded the zip file and double-click setup.exe file to start the installation.

  • Select what you want to install. Click Install Tecnomatix Plant Simulation to install the program:

    

  • Click the Next button to proceed with the installation.

    

  • Select the folder into which you would like to install Plant Simulation. Click Next to proceed with the installation.

    

  • Click the Install button to start the installation or click the Back button to return to the previous dialog and modify any of the settings there.

    

    The setup program shows the percentage of the installation it completed. Click the Finish button after the installation is done.

  • Restart your computer.

  • Log on as Administrator to ensure that the operating system correctly registers all files.

    Note:

    To run a silent installation, i.e., to install Plant Simulation without having to respond to dialogs or messages, open a Command Prompt window and enter the this to install Plant Simulation into the default folder:

    msiexec /qn /i PlantSimulation64bit.msi.

    Enter this into install Plant Simulation to another folder: msiexec.exe /qn /i PlantSimulation64bit.msi INSTALLDIR="C:\Program Files\MyInstallationFolder"

  The setup program installs the folder License Server Setup to the installation folder. The folder License Server Setup contains the pdf files with license information.

  

  When you install Plant Simulation for the first time, you have to set up the license(s) for the product(s) you purchased. Click the respective button and follow the instructions on screen.
